Community Service Scholarship Program

Empowering the Next Generation of STEM Leaders


Sky is the Limit, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is dedicated to promoting equity in STEM education. We are proud to offer community service scholarships to exceptional high school juniors and seniors residing in the USA who are passionate about making a difference in their communities.

Scholarship Program

This scholarship program rewards students who demonstrate a commitment to community service and align their projects with Sky is the Limit's mission. We believe that impactful community service experiences can foster valuable skills and inspire future careers in STEM fields.

Scholarship Awards

  • $5,000:  Complete 120 hours of service AND 

    • Receive President's Volunteer Service Award

  • $2,000:  Complete 80 hours of service.

    • Receive President's Volunteer Service Award

  • $1,000:  Complete 60 hours of service.

    • Receive President's Volunteer Service Award

  • $500:     Complete 20 hours of service.

  • $100:     Complete 10 hours of service.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a resident of the USA.

  • Be a current high school junior or senior.

  • Demonstrate a strong academic record.

  • Submit a proposal for a community service project aligned with Sky is the Limit's mission of promoting equity in STEM education (minimum 10 hours).

  • Project must commence by June 1, 2024 and cannot be a completed or near-completion project.

  • Senior graduation projects are not eligible.

Application Process

Simple and Easy

  1. Complete the Scholarship Application Form (Apply Here)

  2. Develop a detailed Community Service Project Plan (separate google drive folder).

    • Outline how you will fulfill your project service hours (bullet points).

    • Demonstrate how your project aligns with Sky is the Limit's mission.

  3. Submit your application and project plan (google drive)​​

Selection Criteria

Scholarship applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Quality of the community service project proposal.

  • Alignment with Sky is the Limit's mission.

  • Applicant's academic record and achievements.

  • Demonstrated commitment to community service.

Scholarship Requirements

Scholarship awardees are required to:

  • Complete the designated number of service hours for their awarded scholarship amount.

  • Submit a Service Project Verification Letter validating completed service hours. (Google drive)

  • Submit a Service Project Completion Report summarizing the project's impact. (Google drive)

Report Submission Process

  1. Create a Google Drive folder titled "SITL Service Project Summary Folder-[Initials of name][Grade][Completion Date MM-YY]". (eg. SITL-AP-05-2024

  2. Upload all project materials (flyers, lesson plans, presentations, photos, etc.) to the folder.

    • Include a minimum of two photos with captions explaining the activity.

  3. Submit a Service Project Verification Letter and your Completion Report.

  4. Email the link to your Google Drive folder to (make sure drive is shared as editable)
